Whips, Chains, and Semicolons Workshop by Autocrit

Sex can be tricky—writing about it can be even trickier. Instead of getting to know one (or two) partners at a time, you’re wooing an unknown audience, whose turn-ons and turn-offs are a mystery. From a moment of titillation to a story that’s mostly heat, sex on the page takes many forms.

In this Expert seminar we’ll cover the basics of writing about sex, from choosing terms and language to showing character development in the bedroom. And because kink & BDSM are more popular than ever, we’ll talk about how these elements can fit into your scenes (without making experienced kinksters cringe).

Writing from personal experience is valuable, but you can’t try everything. So we’ll also cover ways to research communities and activities you may not be familiar with. This Expert Series session will give an overview of the topic, we’ll look at samples of published work and talk about what elements do or don’t work for us.

Session Date/Time:

Monday, February 3rd at 6:00PM EST
