Sourcebooks has announced the launch of Sourcebooks Audio, set to debut in January 2025. The initiative will begin by producing audiobooks for mysteries under the Poisoned Pen Press imprint, romances from Sourcebooks Casablanca, and nonfiction from the Callisto imprint.
Leadership and Vision
Leading the charge for Sourcebooks Audio is Catherine Bucaria, vice president and publisher, who previously served as director of audio strategy and acquisitions at Penguin Random House. Joining her is Almeda Beynon, director of audio production, formerly the executive producer of audio at HarperCollins. Together, they bring a wealth of industry expertise to this exciting venture.
Partnership with PRH Audio
Operating as imprints within Penguin Random House Audio, Sourcebooks Audio reflects the continued collaboration between Sourcebooks and its parent company, PRH, which owns a 75% stake in the publisher. Despite this partnership, Sourcebooks continues to operate independently, maintaining its unique identity in the publishing landscape.
Expanding Horizons in 2026
The expansion of Sourcebooks Audio is already in motion. By 2026, the audiobook line will broaden to include titles from Sourcebooks Landmark, Sourcebooks Fire, and Bloom Books. Among the eagerly anticipated releases is The Mountains We Call Home: The Book Woman’s Legacy, a new novel by Kim Michele Richardson, acclaimed author of The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek and The Book Woman’s Daughter.
A Transformative Step Forward
Dominique Raccah, CEO of Sourcebooks, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative:
“Catherine and Almeda, in partnership with our friends at Penguin Random House Audio, will make a huge difference for so many of our authors and help them reach a whole new level of readership. This new initiative represents another significant step in Sourcebooks’ extraordinary growth story.”
The Future of Sourcebooks Audio
As audiobooks continue to gain popularity, Sourcebooks Audio is poised to connect a diverse range of stories with a growing audience. The new line not only broadens Sourcebooks’ reach but also provides an innovative platform for its authors to captivate listeners worldwide.
With a strong leadership team and a robust catalog in development, Sourcebooks Audio is ready to make waves in the audiobook industry, starting with its January 2025 debut.
