Harlequin Overhauls Trade Division: Consolidates to Three Imprints

Harlequin is streamlining its trade division, cutting down from five imprints to three—Mira Books, Park Row Books, and Hanover Square Press—to better align with market needs and growth opportunities. The restructuring will maintain the current publishing volume while phasing out Canary Street Press and Graydon House by the end of 2025.

New Directions for Harlequin Imprints

  • Mira Books: Returning to its roots as a powerhouse in romance and romantic fiction, Mira will absorb Canary Street Press, bolstering its presence in the thriving romance market.
  • Park Row Books: Expanding its focus on upmarket book club titles and narrative nonfiction, catering to readers seeking engaging and thought-provoking stories.
  • Hanover Square Press: Diversifying its portfolio to include horror and fantasy alongside its established high-concept fiction and nonfiction offerings.

Staff Realignments

The restructuring comes with several editorial team adjustments:

  • Hanover Square Press welcomes April Osborn, Dina Davis, and Evan Yeong from Mira to join the team led by editorial director Peter Joseph.
  • Park Row Books gains Meredith Clark and Leah Mol from Mira, under the leadership of editorial director Erika Imranyi.
  • Mira Books retains its romance expertise with editorial director Susan Swinwood at the helm, alongside key team members like Michele Bidelspach and Cat Clyne.

This shift is part of Harlequin’s strategy to adapt to the evolving publishing landscape, optimize its strengths, and focus on growth opportunities. With a sharpened focus on distinct genres across its imprints, Harlequin aims to deliver even more compelling stories to readers.
