Autocrit’s Showing versus Telling Workshop
The house was creepy. The car was fast. The man was angry.
All of these are clear statements… but they’re hardly immersive.
If you want to craft description that puts the reader right there on the ground, a true understanding of the difference between “showing” and “telling” is one of the strongest skills you can build as a writer.
Why? Because great storytelling is an immersive journey, not a series of bland TED Talk bullet points.
But as much as that makes sense, if you’ve ever found yourself struggling with when to show and when to tell, you’re not alone – because theory and application are two different things, and both approaches can shine in different ways.
And that’s why Autoctit’s back in action next week for the Showing vs. Telling workshop!
Join them for two 90-minute sessions dedicated to this fundamental aspect of involving storytelling, packed with tips, demonstrations, exercises, and Q&A.
