Twilight Turns 20: New Anniversary Editions Stir Nostalgia and Debate
It’s hard to believe, but Twilight is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, Little Brown Books is releasing three special editions on Sept. 30. Pre-orders are already live, and for longtime fans (or those just now discovering the saga), these editions are sure to spark excitement, nostalgia, and maybe even a little debate.
A Classic Reimagined—For Better or Worse?
For purists, the 20th Anniversary Paperback Edition is the closest to the original. Priced at $18.15 (down from $19.99), this edition keeps the iconic black-and-white hands cradling the red apple—arguably one of the most recognizable book covers of all time. But there are a few upgrades, including full-color artwork inside the front and back covers, plus the famous line “And so the lion fell in love with the lamb” printed down the spine.
For those who want something a little more extravagant, the Deluxe Collector’s Edition ($28, down from $40) completely reimagines Twilight’s aesthetic. The black, white, and red theme is gone, replaced by a dusty rose and teal floral motif. The hardcover also comes with a foil-stamped slipcase, ribbon marker, and illustrations of Bella and Edward. It’s a visually striking edition, though some fans (myself included) might struggle to see how the pastel colors reflect the dark and brooding themes of the book. Still, if you love collecting unique editions, this one’s a standout.
And then there’s the five-book deluxe hardcover box set, which includes the original four novels plus Midnight Sun (Edward’s perspective of Twilight). Originally priced at $139, this set is available for pre-order at $97.30. Each book in the set has newly illustrated covers and stained edges, giving the collection a fresh yet classic feel. If you don’t already own the series—or if you just want a stylish upgrade—this set could be the ultimate display piece.
