Harlequin Expands to the Screen: A New Era of Romance with Centinel Media
Harlequin has teamed up with Centinel Media to bring its beloved romance novels to the screen. Starting in 2025, this collaboration will produce six adaptations, with plans to release up to 28 films and series by 2028. Some of the first titles include Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell by Taj McCoy, The Dachshund Wears Prada by Stefanie London, and Sweet on You by Carla de Guzman. These adaptations are set to offer a mix of standalone films and series, all executive-produced by Centinel’s Craig Cegielski and Susan Oman Gross, alongside Harlequin’s Brent Lewis.
This initiative marks a significant step for Harlequin, which celebrates its 75th anniversary, as it expands its reach from the bookshelf to the TV screen. According to Brent Lewis, Harlequin’s EVP and Publisher, the goal is to blend “Harlequin storytelling with a touch of movie magic” to attract both loyal fans and new audiences. With a mix of heartfelt storytelling and romance, these adaptations will spotlight the signature love stories Harlequin is known for.
The partnership also aligns with Centinel Media’s focus on adapting popular literary content, transforming “binge readers into binge viewers.” As Harlequin continues to solidify its place in both publishing and entertainment, these adaptations are sure to add fresh, heartwarming content to the romance genre on screen.
