Reviews for The Sharp Points of a Triangle
"Second chances at love can be challenging, unnerving, and potentially heartbreaking. Hannah Boyd and Jamie Young face all of these things as they also compete for a particular client in the cut-throat business world. I enjoyed the interplay and the frustrations they faced between one another and their ex-lovers. I rooted for them to weave their way through the problems surrounding them. If you enjoy a good second chance at love story, you’ll enjoy The Sharp Points of a Triangle." - Got Romance Reviews

An Interview with Rachel Brimble
By Holly Hewson for The Romance StudioHH: Rachel, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Please tell us about your featured book, The Sharp Points of a Triangle. RB: Triangle is full of fun, frolics, a few tears and plenty of the good stuff! It’s my favorite of the books I have written so far, and that is all down to Hannah and Jamie, the hero and heroine. Hannah is a scream and Jamie is just pure unadulterated hunkiness. Can there be a better combination?
HH: Your heroine has gained a lot at a young age. And she has much to lose. Where did you get the idea for this emotionally-charged tale? RB: The book was inspired by a newspaper article about two reunited lovers who got married just six months after seeing each other again. Even though the concept is romantic, it’s not enough to sustain 300 manuscript pages! So I added a few problems for Hannah and Jamie and it resulted in a sexy romantic comedy set at a financial conference in the UK. Believe me, their reunion is by no means plain sailing but it’s great fun to watch!
HH: What do you like best about Hannah and how do you relate to her? RB: Her innate ability to get herself in trouble – she is impulsive, rash and loves a glass of wine or two... or three. She has a great vulnerable side but knows how to hold her own in a cut-throat business world as well as insurmountable patience with a boss very few of us could tolerate! I relate to her in that I have the same determination and the same fear of being hurt twice by the same person…oh, and I see nothing wrong with a large Chardonnay at the end of the day either!
HH: What do you like best about Jamie and why might he be perfect for her? RB: Mmm, what do I like best? Too many things! He’s driven, hard-working, sexy, tolerant, romantic…And he’s perfect for Hannah because she needs most definitely needs the sex, the tolerance and the romance. As far as everything else a woman could need? Hannah’s got it covered.
HH: This is released by Eternal Press. What can you tell us about this exciting publisher? RB: Eternal Press are great to work with. Based in Canada, their author database is steadily increasing and as far as I can tell they are all very happy writing for them. Their book covers are exciting and new, their vision even more so. They provide books from all genres, not just romance and they actively encourage submissions of varying lengths. Go check them out!
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers? RB: I have my first historical coming out on July 23rd from The Wild Rose Press. I am really excited about this book and eager for my readers to tell me what they think about it. Having only written contemporary fiction up until now I am nervous that the historical lovers out there won’t love it as much as I do! Fingers crossed, it will be a hit.
HH: What can you tell us about your forthcoming historical? RB: The Arrival of Lily Curtis is set in Victorian England and is about a young woman who when pressed to get married asks her parents if she be allowed six months to prove she can lead an independent life or else she will marry a man of their choosing. They agree and the heroine changes her name and arrives at Cotswold Manor to work for the handsome Viscount Andrew Baxter. Their story is passionate, warm, funny, scary but most of all, romantic. Enjoy!
HH: What would you most like to accomplish this year? RB: I would like to think I will have another book at least scheduled for release this year as well as two or three short stories – but my main goal this year is to secure that elusive agent. My sixth book, a contemporary romance set in the fictional town of Cotcham Hill, England is currently with an agent who requested the full manuscript over two months ago. Needless to say I am checking my mailbox and email every five minutes!
HH: What are you reading these days? RB: I have just started two new books this week as it happens! The first is Dead After Dark by Charlaine Harris – I don’t usually read paranormal but I LOVE the True Blood series so reading its inspiration is inevitable to me. The other is The Six Wives of Henry VIII by Alison Weir – I am a Tudor nutcase! Neither could be considered romances but I truly believe romance can be found in any book, anywhere.
HH: Any exciting plans for the summer? RB: As I live in England, the most exciting prospect is seeing some sun, LOL! I will be going to the South of France and Wales this year on holiday so I am looking forward to the relaxation and book reading I will be enjoying. Work wise? I plan to have book number seven well under way by then – another Victorian historical….watch this space.
HH: Thank you!
