Brad Norton doesn’t believe his aunt’s death is the accidental shooting the police claim it to be. His instincts tell him there’s a more sinister explanation. In order to get to the bottom of it, he’s going to need professional help.
Pairing up with Alex Leahy, a clairvoyant private investigator, wasn’t exactly in his plans. He didn’t expect the fiery redhead to take over the case and get under his skin so quickly, but things happen fast when Alex is around.
Still, they can’t plan a future together with a killer on the loose. When their investigation intensifies they bring him out of hiding. The danger grows to an entirely new level, however, when attempts are made on their lives.
With six deaths already confirmed, it’s a race to stop their man before Alex and Brad are next on the list.
Reviews for A Killer's Agenda
"A Killer’s Agenda by Anita Whiting is a fantastic book that had me hooked from beginning to end. I think it’s a true testament to Anita Whiting’s storytelling that this book flowed so well… This book could have easily been convoluted and confusing, but again because of how well Ms. Whiting writes, each new revelation worked with the last and the whole picture begins to take shape. A Killer’s Agenda by Anita Whiting is an absolute must read." - Fallen Angel Reviews
4.5 Lips! "A Killer’s Agenda is a superbly written book that hooked me with the first page. If you want suspense full of twists and turns with a light touch of sex on the side then this is it!" - Alisha, Two Lips Reviews
"Anita Whiting pens an excellent tale of paranormal mystery in A KILLER’S AGENDA. I thought this book was amazing. It’s a nice change to have a paranormal/suspense romance with a bit of a twist, which is exactly what Whiting delivers. The novel is well written and very fast paced. Brad and Alex have an interesting relationship that will envelop the reader straight into their world. My only complaint is that I do not have this book in print to add to my collection." - Kym Oetting, Romance Reader at Heart
5 Hearts! "A Killer’s Agenda is a top-notch mystery thriller as well as a beautifully written romance. The plot is a thrilling and concise, the writer’s voice is engaging and the characters feel completely real. The hero and heroine have a chemistry together that shimmers right off the pages. They are witty and funny and smart, but the crimes are still tough to solve and even harder to prove… A Killer’s Agenda is a very exciting book. I loved this book. I’m certain you’ll enjoy it as much as I did." - Karen H., The Romance Studio

About Anita Whiting
When she was little, Anita Whiting would spend hours reading. It didn’t matter whether it was in the bathtub, in a car or huddled under the covers with a nightlight after her mother thought she was in bed. By the time she was in the sixth grade, she was trying her hand at poetry and short stories some of which were published in the school newspapers. However, it was only after raising three children and working as an obstetrical nurse for years that she finally tried her hand at a full length novel. It went so well that she wrote another and another. Nothing pleases her more than reading a good book and she hopes you feel the same about hers.

An Interview with Anita Whiting
By Holly Hewson Marketing Director for The Romance StudioHH: Anita, welcome to The Romance Studio. Please tell us about your featured work, A Killer’s Agenda. AW: Actually, the best way to tell you about A Killer’s Agenda is to quote from the back cover. It is as follows...
Brad Norton doesn't believe his aunt's death is the accidental shooting the police claim it to be. His instincts tell him there's a more sinister explanation. In order to get to the bottom of it, he's going to need professional help. Pairing up with Alex Leahy, a clairvoyant private investigator wasn’t exactly in his plans. He didn't expect the fiery redhead to take over the case and get under his skin so quickly, but things happen fast when Alex is around.
Still, they can't plan a future together with a killer on the loose. When their investigation intensifies they bring him out of hiding. The danger grows to an entirely new level, however, when attempts are made on their lives. With six deaths already confirmed, it's a race to stop their man before Alex and Brad are next on the list.
HH: Your hero knows there’s more to his aunt’s death than assumed and enlists the help of a beautiful clairvoyant. Where did you get the idea for this romantic thriller? AW: You know, I really can’t tell you how I come up with these ideas. I’m an avid reader and have been since I was a little girl. I think some of my ideas come from the many books I’ve read, some from my imagination and some from the romantic part of me that loves a mystery but still likes the boy meets girl part as well.
HH: What sort of research did you do for this project? AW: I seldom do extensive research on the books I write simply because I usually create the location of my stories in places I have been and feel comfortable writing about. My husband has traveled extensively throughout southern Ohio, West Virginia and into the Carolinas so I used his knowledge when I needed to make sure what I wrote was accurate.
HH: What did you like best about Brad Norton? AW: I like the fact that he has layers. He’s a successful businessman, sexy and strong willed. Yet underneath, he has issues that affect the kind of man he has become. It was a challenge to make him continue to appear strong yet open to change as he and Alex’s relationship deepens. I love a hero who has inner conflict. I think it makes the story more believable and hopefully, makes the character more real to the reader.
HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story? AW: I find it challenging to write a story that has the reader guessing. Not only about the mystery and suspense, but also about the personal challenges my characters face. This story, in particular, was convoluted. I had to make sure all the different tangents I took Alex and Brad on ultimately made sense and what’s more were in a timeline that the reader could follow. When I received reviews that state that the book “kept them on the edge of their seat” I know I’ve succeeded in what I set out to do.
HH: What are you working on now? AW: I just finished editing my final copy of The Killer Among Them for Samhain Publishing. It is another romantic suspense that takes place between New York City and a small town in Alabama called Brookdale. Again, I used what was familiar to me. My father grew up in a very small town in Alabama called Brookside. I used my memories of that to set the stage for this book. Here is the blurb from the story.
The Killer Among Them
Katarina Ramon thought she had succeeded in burying the memory of her parents’ savage murders fifteen years ago. She was a successful attorney in New York City, had famous clients and a reputation for being one of the best in her profession.
Yet, the dreams still came. Dreams in which she saw, in vivid detail, every aspect of that horrible night. Not because she had witnessed their murders but because of her sixth sense, her clairvoyance. She resented what her aunt called the family gift, resented the sudden flashes of knowledge that appeared from nowhere. Yet, when another couple is found murdered in her small hometown of Brookdale, her aunt begs her to come home and assist in the investigation.
Chief Cole Collins isn’t pleased with Katarina’s interference nor is he immune to her charms. Yet he has a very rich, spoiled ex wife to deal with as well as a psychologically damaged eight year old daughter he has just regained custody of. Not to mention the fact that someone in the charming small southern town he now calls home has murderous tendencies.
He welcomes Katarina’s help however when his ex wife is found murdered in his garage and he is the prime suspect.
Will her sixth sense be enough to clear Cole and stop the killing or is it only a matter of time before one of them is next?
HH: What can readers look forward to from you in 2008? AW: In addition to the release of The Killer Among Them in January, A Killer’s Agenda was named a finalist in the 2008 Eppie Awards for Romantic Suspense. Also, my first book, Irish Magic, is to be re-released by Double Dragon Publishing the early part of next year. My second book, Letters From The Heart, which was an Eppie winner for Best Romantic Suspense in 2006 is being considered by several publishers at present and I hope to have it re-released sometime next year. I am also working on another romantic suspense that takes place in Beverly Hills, California. For that one, I did have to do research as I’ve never been to that part of the world.
HH: How did you get your start as a writer? AW: I was always writing in grade school and I attribute my love for reading and writing to a nun I had in the sixth grade. Her encouragement gave me the courage to try new challenges. I took journalism in high school and was editor of the school newspaper. I have written several articles for the local papers especially in the sports section as I’m an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. However, it wasn’t until 2004 that I attempted a full length novel. Irish Magic was well received and it went from there.
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career? AW: Like any writer, I would love to make a name for myself. My dream is for people to ask for my books because they like what I write and how I write it.
HH: What would you most like to accomplish in 2008? AW: My goal is to write a book every three months or so. I want to keep my writing fresh and new but stay in the genre I love which is primarily romantic suspense. Samhain and Double Dragon Publishing have been very good to me and, especially with Samhain, I found the editing to be tough, thorough and a wonderful learning experience for me. I feel I’ve grown as a writer and I hope my readers recognize that as well.
HH: Thank you!
