This contemporary romance is great fun and I look forward to reading more of her work." - Bonnie-Lass, Coffee Time Romance

"I loved this book! I have never read Ms. Angela Steed before, but I will definitely look for her work. This contemporary romance was sensual, but not erotic. It was set in beautiful settings, which were wonderfully pictured for us. And the title -- 1080 Kiss? I'll let you read the book to see what that is all about!" - Brenda Talley, The Romance Studio

"This romance has both light-hearted and heartbreaking scenes that make the characters seem real. An Interview with Angela Steed
By Holly Hewson Marketing Director for The Romance Studio

HH: Angela, welcome to TRS! Please tell us about your exciting debut novel, 1080 Kiss.

AS: Thank you so much for having me! I'm very pleased to be here.

Here's the blurb for 1080 Kiss.

He never followed the rules. Vince Evans, professional snowboarder, is a black-haired, green-eyed charmer no woman can tame and no man can match on the slopes. Followed by a flurry of bad publicity and a trail of ex-managers, his Olympic dreams teeter on the brink unless he can orchestrate a career turnaround. And fast.

Her rules were unbendable. After a year-long hiatus, public relations extraordinaire Morgan Price is ready to resume her high-profile job resurrecting musicians fallen from grace. A bad-boy athlete is not the type of client she expects-or wants. But then she sees a side of the "God of Snow" no one has seen before, a side she just might break all the rules of business for.

HH: You have two wonderful characters and you can see the collision coming a mile away - and can't wait. Where did you get the idea for this story?

AS: 1080 Kiss actually started out as a paranormal, believe it or not. Then one day I was flipping channels and ended up on a movie where a man was snowboarding down a treacherous mountain. I just thought that was such a great, action-packed stunt, not to mention the actor just had that bad-boy attitude. So I decided to remove the werewolf theme and add a snowboarder instead. *g* Vince makes a much better conversationalist than a growling fur-ball.

HH: So where were you when you found out this work would be published?

AS: I was sitting at my computer writing my next novel. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, so I was rather distracted anyway when the phone call came. I remember talking to Kerry like a bumbling buffoon when she offered me the contract. *g*

HH: How did you celebrate?

AS: I ordered Chinese food for dinner, popped open a bottle of red wine, and then played World of Warcraft with my husband.

HH: What can you tell us about your publisher, Black Lyon Publishing?

AS: Black Lyon Publishing is a great company to work with. The owner, Kerry A. Jones, gives a wonderful approach to new authors. She's there every step of the way, helping with anything needed, whether that is with a question, or just a kind word or simple hello. She's into the unique stories, so every book published with her company offers a very entertaining read. I've read several of the books published, and not one is disappointing!

HH: Tell us about your journey to being a published writer?

AS: I've always loved storytelling. When I finished 1080 Kiss, which was about four years ago, my younger sister told me I should send it in. It took me awhile to get up the nerve to do it. Black Lyon Publishing was the first publisher I sent it to. Since they're located in Oregon, where I grew up, I felt comfortable by doing so. I'm glad I did.

HH: How have things changed for you now?

AS: Not much has changed. I definitely work a little harder. I'm busier than I used to be. I'm sleep deprived and caffeinated most of the time due to having a one year old at home, but I'm still able to get some writing done late at night and on weekends.

HH: What are you working on at the moment?

AS: The story I'm working on now is exciting for me. Here's a short unofficial blurb.

Imagine being carried through a tiny fracture in the universe that links two worlds together-Earth and Atlantis. This is exactly what happens to Kathryn Shaw when she meets Derrick, an immortal Atlantean with the responsibility to return the fading magic to his world.

Join Kathryn as she walks through space and time, high above the ocean waves. Wonder with her as she steps down onto a pyramid amidst a city of gold and discovers the true legend of Atlantis. Sail with her as she travels a vast sea to meet a Siren, and finds herself turned into a mermaid. As she searches for rare gems, talks with a Troll, eats dinner with a Cyclops, and befriends a dark soul, she finds herself falling in love. Only to find out the man of her dreams is destined to end her life to prevent the downfall of his world.

HH: Sounds great. <g> What do you have up next for readers?

AS: I'm hoping Atlantis, unofficial name, will be finished and ready for release by the end of the summer. I have four other stories I wrote a long time ago as well. So I'm hoping to shake off the dust and edit them soon.

HH: What event are you most looking forward to this year?

AS: There are three adventures that are in talks this year. One is a trip to Bimini Island this summer. I also have a trip to Oregon planned with my family. And if all goes well this year, I'll be joining another author for Halloween at the Boutique du Vampyre in New Orleans for a booksigning. It should be a lot of fun!

HH: Thank you!
