Miranda Raines thinks she has found a safe haven in Oxford, England, until Scotland Yard DCI David French knocks on her door with terrifying news. Her ex-husband, a convicted murderer, has escaped from prison and he's coming for her.
Miranda, who for years has harbored a secret love for the driven Chief Inspector, has no choice but to trust him. She just hopes she can guard her own heart at least as well as he guards her.
After thwarting her ex's first attack, David spirits Miranda and her young son out of England and the three of them end up on the run across Europe. David has no intention of falling in love again, but with each passing day Miranda awakens passions he thought long dead.
Could this be their forever love? With a killer on their trail, they may not live long enough to find out.

About Marie-Nicole Ryan
Romantic suspense author, Marie-Nicole Ryan, has had a life-long love affair with books. Like a lot of people, she thought she'd write a book some day. Since time passed so quickly (when you're supposed to be having fun), she found herself well into middle age and still no book--as long as you don't count the hundred pages of one she typed on an old portable Smith-Corona typewriter back in the late Seventies.
Her first book was published in 2002, and it was the realization of that long-held dream. Although she spent most of her life working as an RN, she also found time to earn an associate degree in interior design, something that comes in handy when it's time to visualize a room. And since she can't resist placing her characters in jeopardy, her medical experience isn't wasted either.
Since that first book, she's published three more books. LOVE ON THE RUN is her latest release at Samhain Publishing, Ltd., and she has two more contracted for release this spring and summer.
She's a member of ROMANCE WRITERS OF AMERICA and MUSIC CITY ROMANCE WRITERS, EPIC, and Kiss of Death. When she was the editor of MCRW's newsletter, Love Notes, she won first place in the RWA, small chapter, newsletter contest.
She's a native of Henderson, Kentucky, but she's lived in Tennessee so long she considers herself a native. She's given up her day job and is continually amazed by how much more writing she's accomplished.

An Interview with Marie-Nicole Ryan
By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance StudioHH: Marie-Nicole, welcome to TRS! Please tell us about your featured work, Love on the Run. MNR: It's a woman and child in jeopardy story who are on the run from her ex-husband with the assistance of a rather tortured Detective Chief Inspector from Scotland Yard. It's a danger-filled hop scotch across Europe--at times romantic and fun-filled as Miranda and David fall in love and try to keep young Jamie safe.
HH: This book was first released in 2002 but now has been revised with new scenes for Samhain Publishing. What can you tell us about the new version of this story? MNR: The basic premise hasn't changed. I have "heated" it up somewhat, but it's still very mainstream romantic suspense. Having David and Randi sexing it up all the time just does not fit with their characters. That being said, I added one love scene and lengthened another quite a bit. I updated it to reflect current times as well. There's another added scene in the prologue which was necessary to explain just how complicated their history was.
HH: Where did you get the idea for this suspense filled story? MNR: It all started with a dream I had of a man, woman and child who were climbing into a private plane. I just knew they were on the run and he felt responsible for them. It was only natural I had to figure out who they were and why they were running away.
HH: What do you like best about David and Miranda? MNR: I love the fact they are two very different people. He's a British Chief Inspector-I love those British detectives-and the second son of the Earl of Middlebury. She's from an upper middle class American family and she's a musician and very down-to-earth. I love that she has a sense of humor and is phobic about flying, but is willing to do anything to protect her son from his father. David carries a heavy load of guilt over his fiancée's death. How he and Miranda come together and fall in love is a very tender, heartwarming story. I'm prejudiced, of course, but they were my first characters to see print and I adore both of them.
HH: What are you working on now? MNR: Right now I'm revising a romantic suspense submission which will hopefully be the first of a six book series, set in a PI agency, Music City Investigations, run by a family of blending siblings. Each of the six family members will have his/her own book.
HH: What do you have in store for readers in 2008? MNR: I have two scheduled releases, one for May and one in July. ONE TOO MANY is a mystery/suspense with romantic elements sequel to LOVE ON THE RUN. It again features David and Miranda who are on their honeymoon when it's interrupted by a murder. Miranda/Randi discovers the dead body of an antiques dealer and David is drawn into the investigation. He has to solve the case before the killer strikes again…and there is that honeymoon to get back to. My mid-July release is HOLDING HER OWN, a spicy romantic suspense set in New Orleans. Two FBI agents go undercover to stop a money laundering operation in a fictional New Orleans casino. The heroine, Caitlin, is in charge and it doesn't sit well with the hero, Jake who's a bit of a rogue when it comes to following orders, especially hers. Along the way they fall in love, but Jake still needs a partner who can cover his back and hold her own when the bullets start flying. Both will release electronically from Samhain Publishing in 2008 and in print in April and June 2009.
HH: How did you get your start as a writer? MNR: Like about one-hundred percent of writers, I got my start by reading. I wrote my first hundred pages of a historical novel back in the late seventies, and it's still lying around somewhere. In the mid-nineties I started writing fan fiction on some La Femme Nikita story boards. People made very favorable comments and a published author encouraged me along the way to write my own stories.
HH: How have things changed since then? MNR: Well, for one thing, I had a lot to learn about developing my own characters, point of view and all the nitty-gritty craft details which go into making a well-written story. I had to learn how to take rejection with a shrug and finally after I sold how to self-promote. Time management is also something I'm trying to get under control.
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career? MNR: To find an audience who loves what I write. To never give up trying to improve my craft. To find an agent who loves my work.
HH: What do you enjoy reading? MNR: I love British mysteries, police procedurals and just about any romantic suspense.
HH: What event are you most looking forward to this year? MNR: I'm really looking forward to two events this year. One will be my first time to attend and that's the Lori Foster Author/Reader Get Together in June in Cincinnati. The other is the Women's Expo held in Kingsport, TN, this fall. I had a great time there last year and I'm excited about going back.
HH: Thank you!
