Aurora, no longer a Browne has escaped the Candidacy Program headed to Canada. In the process she takes Bain, her love with her. She was certain she would find peace with the Resistance but there is no peace to be found. She and Bain and Aurora teach the people to grow coconuts and develop the island’s natural vegetation for food.

Ren has fought for the Resistance most of his life but when a surprise attack instigates Angel to be kidnapped it threatens his second-in-command rank. Since he abducted her then rescued her, she is so buried under his skin that he cannot free her from his inner thoughts.

Ren, Angel, Bain and Aurora are about to learn a good deal more about the Resistance. It has been a year since Aurora escaped to Canada. Ren has now accepted an assignment to meet with the mayor of Zephyr and request he join the Resistance. When Ren reaches Zephyr he is betrayed and incarcerated aboard a United World Council ship for murdering the mayor, a crime he is innocent. There is suspicion of an informant in his unit and he must verify that a traitor really does exist. Not only has he been given three days before he is scheduled for execution, but the woman he loves is being held by a sadistic torturer who is horribly cruel. It is up to Ren’s crew to do anything in their power to save him as time seems to be running out.

Zephyr Unfolding is a fantastic read filled with thrilling action, mixed with love, adventure and much betrayal. The character of Ren is powerful as emotions reflect throughout the story that makes this a great read. Aurora is terrific the way she allows her desires to be shown in the pages. With a believable setting and characters that blend in to make the story unfold, Ms. Kurtz pens an enjoyable ride in this science fiction tale that will please any reader.
