| Zarius has finally found his lifemate, Star, on Earth. Now all he had to do is retrieve her and take her back home to Rejar 312. It should have been easy. But Zarius soon finds that Earth females are not like the women back home. It will take lots of patience, tantalizing seduction, and a tremendous amount of control, because he wants Star to come home with him willingly as his mate.
Star is at the crossroads in her life. She didn’t get the promotion she wanted and has no man in her life. But the strange overwhelming and weird feelings of arousal and desire that rush over her when she first sees Zarius is both frightening and exciting. She’s never felt like that, ever. So why now, when none of the men she’s tried having a relationship with have been able to arouse her? Star’s questions are answered. Those answers leave her shocked and hurt. But she’s not a wilting violet, although innocent in the ways of men. She’s gutsy and thinks things through. It was amusing to see a rather dominating Zarius realize that Earth women are far different to those back home as he struggles to control his instincts. It would have been easy to just drag her off to his world, but then it wouldn’t be voluntary. The need for her to accept him and want to be with him, kept him focused. The various secondary characters add to the story with their individual personalities, fueling a desire to know more about them. Zarius is the first in an exciting series and has a well developed, full-bodied engaging plot, filled with sensuality that jumps right off the page. L.A. Day leaves the reader satisfied throughout. She teases the reader and with a climatic ending, leaving the reader anticipating the next book.
