| Fenris is a werewolf. For more years than he counts he has hated humans for destroying those they don't understand. Roth Lawrence is a college professor on an expedition with his students. A storm confuses him and he's cut off from his students, injured, and near death when Fenris finds him. Roth chooses the healing that Fenris offers over death from his injuries even if it will make him a werewolf.
Kate Hill does a great job weaving this tale into an excellent romance.. Perhaps fate separates the professor from his mates in the mountains. It's obviously not his first expedition into the wild. He's been alone, living for his work and buried in his study of the Vikings. He doesn't believe in werewolves and other non human creatures but the proof is in his healing. Fenris could have easily let him die of natural causes in revenge for what others have done to his kind and others. Instead Ms. Hill gives us a story of two lonely men finding the gift of one another at Yule time. This is a well crafted Christmassy read.
