| Lynne Connolly knows her stuff. The first of the series, of four books, Yorkshire, proves Ms. Connolly knows how to produce scenes of emotion in eighteenth century style.
Rose Golightly and her family live quietly in Devonshire until summoned for a grand betrothal ceremony by Lord Harlton. When a carriage accident occurs, and Rose stumbles across it, she is forced to care for Richard, Lord Strang. His vivid blue eyes cause her to shiver as she sees her destiny. Fate plays a part as well with these star crossed lovers, though there are some who are vehemently against the match. I must say this was the most exciting first of a series I’ve read recently. Ms. Connolly’s book is a dream, her writing is flawlessly penned. A thrill to read.
