Tortured, brutally disfigured, feared, and ostracized at a young age, incredibly powerful witch Mina just wants to be left alone. Only alone can she fight the darkness of 'Dark Ones' blood that lurks within her. She trusts no one, relies on no one. Nevertheless, David, a Lieutenant with the Dark Legion Angels, refuses to leave her be. He goads her, refusing to believe she's truly evil, and this frightens her.

David, young in angel years, has had his own horrific past. His past that allows him to relate to Mina in a way no one else can. He sees beyond the disfigured, grumpy witch to a woman who has refused to give in to every horrifying thing that has happened to her. He wants her trust and her love. In striving to achieve his aim, he finds something he didn't think possible.

Both characters have tremendous strength and courage made stronger by what they endured as children. Sometimes horrific in graphic detail, A Witch's Beauty is fraught with tension in all its forms. Beautifully written, this gratifying and often deeply emotional story held me within its grasp, captured by the tale of these two people as they fight for each other and for good over evil. This is not an easy book to read by any means, but it brings forth that love triumphs over all and it is a must read. Following A Mermaid's Kiss, it easily stands alone but together they reward you with powerful reading, especially if you are looking for something more than a quick read. Joey's outstanding writing brings you endearing, three-dimensional characters and vivid pictures of the world she's created. Sensual, provocative, love scenes and thrilling, exciting, actions scenes add to the dramatic story telling. I'm eagerly waiting for the next book set in this world. I sincerely hope there is one.
