| We relish the tale of The Winter Queen. We join her in a beautiful world of ice, tainted by death. Stories of jeweled lands, just beyond the icy world she rules. The stories of those who have tried to pass through, and the endings of their stories. "Seasons of Fantasy: Winter Queen" is a short tale of tragedy and happiness.
I was very surprised reading this story. The amount of emotion and depth of the characters was beyond what I had expected. To fit so much tragedy, unhappiness, self realization, confidence, and feelings of true love and hope into one short story is absolutely amazing. You realize that you can almost feel the cold and the wind and see the snowflakes swirling. You can feel the pain and anguish of the characters. You realize that you are completely enthralled in the story. You have a complete tale, from beginning to end, with all of the background included. Nothing was left out. Aubrie Dionne has managed something truly exceptional here. If she can fit this much feeling into a short story, I can not imagine what she can do in a full length novel. I truly look forward to reading other works by Aubrie Dionne.
