Being stocked by her husband, Holly receives help in the form of a Yahi warrior named Bear. Bear shows up on her front porch in the middle of the night during a bad storm. Within 30 days of losing her ranch to foreclosure, Holly is desperate for help. Did her help arrive in the form of a Yahi warrior in a loincloth? Or is Bear just another man that is out to get what he wants from her? Bear and his friend Lone Wolf, who came before him, must find what the Great Spirit has in store for them. Does their future include Holly and her ranch? Or does the Great Spirit have something different in mind?

I wish I was Holly. I would love to have a hot pinup guy show up on my front porch wearing nothing but a loin cloth. I truly felt as if I was a part of this story. You can’t help but sympathize with Holly and her situation with trying to keep her ranch. As opposed to many women who have been abused, Holly is a strong independent woman who can keep Bear on his toes.

Warrior of the Past is not your normal time travel book. It just doesn’t compare to what has been done already. This isn’t a story where some unsuspecting woman is sent back in time. Ms. Day brings two totally different worlds together and does it very well. People from two cultures are thrown together and have to learn to compromise with each other. It was very well done how the cultures of different times and different people fit together so well. The way the characters interacted and the way they worked together and got along together were excellent. This story could very well take place in the real world.

You will not be disappointed by the love scenes either. While the book is not overflowing with them, the scenes that are there are smoldering. If you are looking for a good time-travel book that is different so much better than the norm, Warrior of the Past will not let you down.
