| Anna Tietjens is footloose and fancy free. She drives a tour bus for Wanderlust Adventures, but things aren’t going well on the London to Katmandu junket. Passenger Sam was run down by a motorbike. Was it just an accident, or was he killed by mistake? Antonia saw something she shouldn’t and was the next passenger to die. Alice, Anna’s trusty truck, was vandalized and left with four flat tires. The passengers have been robbed. What on earth is going on?
Anna’s lover Sebastian joins the tour in India. Anna is disturbed -- she wants to keep her personal and on-the-job lives separate. She’s not into relationships, just good, healthy sex. And Sebastian’s career as a mercenary puts her off a bit. Anna’s bratty sister Elizabeth joins the group as well. Their relationship is anything but sisterly. Elizabeth hooks up with two handsome guys -- at the same time. Anna is under a great deal of stress. Her co-leader Greg has been sidelined by what appears to be a case of malaria, and the members of her tour group play musical beds in an attempt to get a little physical release along with the cultural benefits of world travel. This is a great mystery, but I found the author’s use of the first person for both the heroine and the bad guy a bit confusing. While there’s a lot of general creepiness here, I felt Ms. Munro could have telegraphed a few more hints about the villain’s identity. Tour members range in age from 19 to 32, all single, all horny. Lecherous Lloyd is a joy to hate and the female passengers are all a bit ditzy. Love interest Sebastian is truly to die for, and the settings on the streets of India and by the Taj Mahal make for an interesting backdrop. This was a great read, even if it left me with unanswered questions. It’s a very enjoyable read.
