Sixteen-year-old Danny Callaway is shocked to find his sister, Mary Alice dead. Six months later, he wants to break down during the trial but refuses to give Kevin Green the satisfaction of seeing him in that state. Danny wants Kevin to pay for what he did to Mary, after overhearing Kevin say he will see his sister dead for not going to the prom with him. Kevin has dyslexia and doesn't deal well with it. After seeing Mary, he thinks she is beautiful and the only worthwhile thing in school but she likes another. Now Mary was dead and instead of the death penalty, Kevin got forty years, something that displeases Danny. He wants Kevin dead, just like his sister. Prison life is hard on Kevin and he wants out. He wants Danny to pay for his testimony and making sure he was charged for a crime he says he didn't do. When Kevin gets an appeal, it displeases Danny who will do anything to see that Kevin winds up in the grave. When the two finally confront each other, Danny is not the only one that wants to see justice done.

Morgan Mandel starts off making Two Wrongs a strong read from the beginning to end. The reader is able to see how each character is affected by Mary's death, including Kevin. The plot is intriguing and the well-developed characters realistic in this stunning read. I like the way she takes the character of Kevin and Danny and spins a chapter around them. She shows how the depth of ones fears, and revenge, can cause so many steps within the heart after a loved one is lost. Forgiveness is often hard to come by when the heart is branded with hate and Kevin and Danny demonstrate many different layers of emotions in this compelling read.
