Ashling is an energy sucking vampire who finds friendship online. After a year of talking and getting to know each other Ashling and Devlin decide to meet in person. What occurs at their first meeting is more than a bad date. Ashling is attacked by a vampire hunter and Devlin destroys the hunter leaving only pieces behind. From this point, Ashling is on the run and soon finds out Devlin is not who and what he appears to be. Can Ashling's body survive the hunters' cruelty and can her heart survive Devlin's secrets?

"Turning Ash" is an intense adventure with character surprises around each corner. Right from the beginning, we are immersed in Ashling's life. One day she is a simple bartender minding her own business with a boyfriend of three years, Evan. The next she is on the run from hunters who are killing her friends to track her down and her boyfriend has dumped her to join the hunters. Throughout Ash suppresses the desire she has for Devlin. His visits in her dreams are erotic and make her believe he desires her. Devlin is not the person he presents to Ash. At one point he sends his brother Markus to protect Ash. Their relationship from the start has deep undercurrents of mutual desire. This story really pulls you in and you want Ashling to overcome all the physical and the emotional obsticles which suddenly appear in her life. The romance which develops is riddled with lies, deception, good intentions and desire. This is a fast paced read with a good plot and well developed characters. Throughout the story we are inside Ashling's mind and heart, hearing what she thinks and desires. The internet plays a role in how Ash reaches out to others to grieve, to hide, to understand and to deal with all the disasters in her life.
