Cole Roberts is renovating the family horse ranch into a guest ranch, and intends to devote his energies to that. He will not take another chance on love after two disappointments. Then Lindy Grainger comes to the ranch as a masseuse. Lindy, unknown to Cole, is hiding a secret. She is in the witness protection program because of her testimony at a murder trial and has to reinvent herself each time someone gets close. Because of this, she steers clear of relationships, but both Lindy and Cole find themselves having great difficulty resisting their love. Will they find their way to each other, or will the killer wreak his revenge?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the second one I’ve read and reviewed by this author. She created a romantic suspense that keeps the reader wondering and on the edge of her seat. The author describes the settings in such a way to put the reader right in the action. Both the ranch and the prison come to life in this story. The killer, would-be avenger, doesn’t have a great many scenes but his presence is felt throughout the book, keeping the reader on edge. Throughout the book, Lindy fights her growing love for Cole, all the while keeping the danger in back of her mind and the truth from Cole. The author does a beautiful job of describing the feelings of Cole and Lindy and the reader grows to care for them deeply. The exciting climax to the story is wonderfully done and completely satisfying. This second book by this author was well worth reading.

I look forward to more by this author.
