| What starts out, as a vacation searching for long lost ruins in South America becomes a discovery that will shake up Meg’s world. Instead of finding ruins Meg finds herself confronted with a wounded yet hauntingly beautiful jaguar. Taking the situation in stride Meg brings the deadly cat back to her base camp to take care of. Yet in the morning to her disbelieving eyes she finds a man were the jaguar should be for an instant and they he is that cat again.
Santiago is actually part of the Tezcatlipoca race of shifters that can change at will. He has learned the hard way that human women have a hard time accepting his strange ways. Meg wild child that she is finds herself lusting after Santiago. Thrown together this unlikely pair battles the jungle, bandits and their driving attraction to reach Santiago’s village and help. Jenna McDonald has written a wonderful story which is rich in detail that actually drops the reader directly into the South American jungle. It is very easy to picture Meg cutting through the undergrowth and Santiago as the sleek jaguar. The emotional and sexual undercurrents are intense and powerful between the two. The dialog is snappy and downright humorous at times. This is truly a wonderful story and one not to be missed by anyone who enjoys a poignant tale of desire and love between a shifter and his mate. If nothing else you truly need to read this story for the unbelievable yet comical mating scene in a tree that will have you laughing out loud. And the ending proves that Ms. McDonald has a wicked sense of humor. I can’t wait for her next book!
