| Travis Denton’s first look at the woman who had custody of his daughter was a shock. She was standing on the side of the street, dressed like a hooker, talking to a man in a car. She was holding Brooke’s hand! Brooke, his eight-year-old daughter, was a beautiful child who deserved better than living with an aunt who was a hooker. He had traveled from America to file for custody of Brooke and take her away from New Zealand and the pitiful life she was living.
Darcy Farrell had no idea who Brooke’s father was. Her sister died in childbirth without revealing that she had married while living in America. All Darcy knew was Brooke had no one else. Custody was awarded through the courts. She was upset when she realized someone was following her and spying on her. Things didn’t get better when she found out who Travis claimed to be. Sue Perkins has written a lively story about a little girl who didn’t know any life except the one Darcy struggled to provide. They were both detailed in the book and were so loveable it was impossible to not be on their side. The chemistry between Darcy and Travis was electric. They were opposites both in financial and worldly ways. Neither knew the true self of the other. How the little girl dealt with both of them was sweet and interesting. This book was a pleasure to read and I recommend it to all. It is light hearted and fun. It warms the heart. The happily-ever-after definitely presented some surprises
