| The Team patrols their small college town, making sure that the preternatural inhabitants do not cross the line into unacceptable behavior. J.C. Bailey is the only female on the team and usually only Nick Corellis notices. J.C. lost her virginity to Nick and is very attracted to him, but he is incapable of being faithful, and J.C. knows every time he has been with someone else. Worse yet, Nick seems to think that she belongs to him. Preternatural activity has increased dramatically lately, including creatures that no one has seen before; these creatures seem to target J.C. in particular. Nick is being secretive, and J.C.’s mother is trying to find her the perfect man; one a week. J.C. is suddenly a very popular girl, particularly with a legendary hunter visiting the area. Gareth, the Black Knight, even appears at the family dinner table one week. J.C. is determined to get to the bottom of all of this intrigue, if she lives long enough.
This is a very exciting story, very erotic and not for the faint of heart. I liked J.C., though I would like to know more about “what” she is. The author really isn’t clear on a lot of this, but I am assuming she had limited space and the story took over. Nick and Gareth are extremely sexy characters; I can’t blame J.C. for having a hard time deciding. I had a little bit of a hard time with J.C. telling Gareth that she wasn’t easy when she seemed to go at it with every one in the area, including a couple of bad guys, even after she knew Nick’s whole story. The story is full of action, scary and creepy creatures, very sexy men, and a bit of humor also. Ms. Andel really tells a good story and I want to read more of them.
