Amanda loved her job as special education teacher at Milltown Elementary School. The only part she didn’t love was that it took so much effort to get everything done. She was often exhausted. She was thrilled when the school board offered her a teacher’s assistant for the upcoming year. What she didn’t know was that Tracy Atkins was a man. Her life would never be the same.

Tracy fit into Amanda’s life so easily she was very concerned about it. He got involved with the same church Amanda attended and the College and Career class members accepted him as one of their own. She didn’t want to get absorbed with him. She was happy single and didn’t need the added stress of falling in love. She had already learned that lesson—the hard way.

Ms. JoAnn Carter has, once again, written a great inspirational book with a wonderful plot. These two characters were so well matched that it was amazing watching their lives intertwine. Both of these young people loved the Lord and actively pursued their life’s decisions to honor that commitment. Both were strong individuals that felt a connection even though it was certainly strange with her the lead teacher and him, obviously an executive-type, answering to her.

The year was unusual to say the least. Their friends played a big role in this storyline. The church people and beliefs were obvious, but were not offensive at all. I loved the way Carter told this story. It was one of the best I’ve read in a long while.

I highly recommend this book and this author. I can guarantee a great read and an author who will become a “must-read” in your library. This book can be read by all age groups and is certainly one to look forward to. And the ending was definitely a surprise.
