Adrian du Lac is a vampire that uses his immortality for his own benefit. As he lives his life as a flourishing businessman, he wishes complete power. Katerina Romanov has been away at school, thanks to a generous du Lac. When she returns, she wishes to pay off the loan from him and have her father finally retire, instead of continuing to work for the vampire du Lac, who only causes heat to surge through her veins. Adrian is thrilled with Katerina’s return. He knows about her forceful powers and could use them to his advantage. Katerina remembers when her mother once told her about vampires, but she never imagined that being in such close proximity; a vampire as du Lac could appear so human-like, even in the business world. She doesn’t understand why she can’t repay the loan. Her mother warns her to speak no more on the matter. When Katerina finds herself drawn to du Lac, whom he insists to be called, Adrian, his sex appeal and incredible good looks, not to mention the soothing charm he breezes her way, is sometimes hard to overlook. And she doesn’t wish to become a zombie, after one vampire bite. When she learns of her powers, she is shocked. How could her parents keep this secret from her all these years? When the two are faced with Adrian’s enemies, they learn that even with her supremacy they could lose everything.

The Taste of Magic is a spellbinding read. From the moment I started reading, I was caught up in the ambience and sheer romance of Adrian and Katrina. Their incredible passion is electrifying. I like the part that even though he had no reflection, he still cared for his appearance. And how she didn’t wish to be called Kat, but he called her that anyway. Gina Rosavin pens a well-crafted story that this reader thoroughly enjoyed. The dialogue is excellent, the passion intense, and the characters remarkably fashioned. With powerful wizards, vampires, and witches spells, this enchanting tale has about everything to please the reader. Bravo to Ms. Rosavin for an extraordinary read.
