| Jan and Mirry are winged warriors who each believe the other has been killed. Fledge, a storytelling circus girl with submissive tendencies, finds the almost dead Mirry in a heap of carcasses and saves his life. Lady Belladonna, a demon who can live forever if she possesses human bodies, has Jan captive using him as a sex toy.
Ms. Rossetti builds a love story that takes the phrase ‘flights of fantasy’ to a whole new level! Not only does she paint a picture of gorgeous men, she adds wings and a very talented tail. This author has a gift for using contrasts throughout her story. Mirry is the classic, rather pampered, light haired, pale skinned, beautiful man. Jan is dark haired, powerful, older, a warrior all of his life. Fledge is a classic, uneducated girl who can barely write her name, gifted with improvisational storytelling abilities. Just by using character cards picked by someone in the audience, she can spin a tale that enthralls people of all ages, She lets us compare that with Mirry who needs his lists to sort things out in life. I truly enjoyed the way the author put the pieces together to show Fledge as a real heroine, a stronger person overall than either of her warriors. Without her to help them their lives were incomplete. Without them she knew she could survive because she was no stranger to sadness. She may not be able to read, write or cipher but she is able to teach Mirry and Jan how to love. I stayed up way past my usual bedtime to finish this exceptional story. Part of the beauty of it is that the reader can use it as a beautifully done erotic fantasy or as a picture of the realities of life in fantasy format. Either way Ms. Rossetti has given us a fantastic story.
