Sweet Petunia Mason (age 45), best friend of Ritzy Valentine II (age 40), failed her junior year in high school three times so she and her best friend, Ritzy, could stay together for their school years. Being from Mobile, Alabama, Sweet Petunia had a remarkable southern accent and, since I am from Alabama, I was afraid this book was going to make fun of people from the South. It did not-although it did help prove the point that just because someone has a heavy accent does not mean she is stupid! The fact that Sweet Petunia had a great love for life and, as manager of the shoe department had reached the career goals she set for herself, and Ritzy had a degree from L.S.U. in psychology with plenty of money to her credit, did not negate the deep friendship shared through the years by the two marvelous polar opposites!

Ritzy booked this cruise for them because she had some important information to share with Sweet Petunia. However, Ritzy was not the only one with significant facts to impart. Ms. Mia Romano did an incredibly good job of developing her characters; I could actually visualize the mindset of these friends. When James Aniston was brought into the mix, it just forced the two women's characters to expand. Would James become an important part of either of their lives? Who was he and what did he want?

This is a sweet, remarkable tale of two women reconnecting after a long separation. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and recommend it to everyone.
