Lucien Mayer, Earl of Ravensberry, heads home from the card table a little drunk with a full purse. When his carriage is overtaken by a band of highwaymen, Lucien decides to call the thief out. When the fight unmasks his assailant, he becomes the prisoner of the group. But when Lucien meets his captor Ambrosius the feelings between them are instant. Ambrosius is not ready for the strong reactions he has to Lucien. So will Lucien escape his captors before they decide they have no reason to keep him alive? And if he does, will his heart ever be the same?

Stand and Deliver is a very erotic novella. It is the tale of a band of highwaymen full of mismatched characters that form a strange family. Each character has lots of personality. It is entertaining to learn of their sorted, sad pasts. The main characters are very vivid and well written. With one being the dark broken spirited hero, that needs love to heal him. Another is the lonely man who has given up on happiness long ago. Their quest to heal their wounds and maybe find love while doing it, makes you keep reading. The dialogue throughout the book is well done. Each character's thoughts matched the words they spoke, and stayed true to their personalities. All the historical aspects seemed accurate, from the detailed cottage to the clothes the men wore. The story was full of drama, without any slow downs in the action. There are lots of male on male kinky sex scenes. But the story goes a lot deeper than just physical pleasure. The entire book was a good read, so do not miss this erotic tale of Lucien Mayer.
