| When Sophie Kincaid spots her boss, Ian Grey, at the bar drinking, she knows something is up. Ian is not a drinker. He likes to be in control in all situations. What could be wrong?
After his five year relationship ends, Ian is down in the dumps. He can't believe he's been dumped and his plans for marriage blown asunder. He is just craving a little forgetfulness as he drinks but when he lays eyes on Sophie, the woman he has had a hard time keeping his eyes off of since he hired her, he can't help feeling a little spontaneous. So spontaneous in fact that Ian and Sophie spend a little quality time naked in the storage room. But will they regret this spontaneous act come morning? Lust-driven stories are often some of the best if the author knows how to turn that lust into true affection and love. This is the case in Karen Erickson's Spontaneous. Both these characters have major doubts about themselves but manage to forget everything when they are together. While I wish Sophie was not so down on herself through much of the book, I'm glad she was wise enough to realize that Ian's heart is true. Ian has never been with a woman so free and open but he loves letting loose with Sophie. They complement each other nicely, while also having truly sizzling chemistry. Spontaneous is a sweet and natural love story but with plenty of fireworks thrown in to keep the plot hopping.
