In the tradition of earlier books in this series, Soulful Sex: Erotic Tales of Fantasy and Romance Vol. III contains seven stories of erotica, ranging through genres from science fiction to fantasy {mermaids and others} to paranormal {including vampires}, and across a selection of historical periods including Regency, Medieval, and Contemporary. Surely there's something for every reader here! Diana Laurence gives readers the additional benefit of providing character portraits for each of the characters in the series at her publishing website!

One of Ms. Laurence's repeated themes is the curiosity of the species- whether that be human or paranormal. In "Hunter," the mermaid Loreste tries to come closer and closer to humans just to satisfy her own curiosity, against the wishes of her clan. She ends up captured by a human male. In "The Verity of the Vampyre," Emily has been a writer of fiction since childhood. With the publication of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, she has been taken with the idea of writing a novel concerning vampires. Her sister and brother-in-law invite a guest, Mr. Wellsley, who proves indeed to be a distraction for Emily from her preoccupation, and something more indeed. There are five other enticing stories in this volume as well.

Diana Laurence does a marvelous job with the Soulful Sex series and I highly recommend it. The advantage of the medium of short story is that the reader can enjoy a titillating and inspiring story one at a time if time does not permit reading the entire book! So it's perfect for bedtime reading.
