Somebody forgot to tell Faye that when she’s dies she is supposed to stay dead! But one should never underestimate the power of a women bent on revenge. Faye may be dead but she possesses the power to reanimate so that she looks and feels real, all over, but she can still disappear at will also. When Faye appears in investigative reporter, Tony’s living room, he believes this must be a dream. Faye wants Tony to help her expose the dealings of the mob pimp who murdered her so that the mob will take the pimp out and she will have her revenge. Tony thinks, sure, he never turns down a lady and after all this is just a dream. But dreams aren’t usually still there in the morning with their sexy, gorgeous, curvy, redheaded body draped all over him.

To read and enjoy Somebody Special, you need to first suspend belief. Nothing about this story is supposed to be believable, it is a spoof. Faye is a gorgeous former hooker with no diseases, hang-ups, or major fault, who can carry on an intelligent conversation and delight a man in bed; a man’s fantasy woman. Tony is a hunk who cares about people, is willing to help hookers, and is willing to put his life on the line to take on the mob because Faye ask him too; sounds like a good fantasy man. The story line is kooky, humorous, and fun. Faye and Tony work together to bring down Faye’s murder, take out drug dealers, help hookers form a union, and generally right wrongs in the world by utilizing Faye’s unusual attributes. The couple also manages to have some incredible sex and fall in love; after all it is an erotic romance. Tony and Faye do face a few challenges that will have to be overcome, the main one being that Faye is a ghost and they don’t know how long she will be able to continue to exist in her current form but they’ll just have to deal with that when it happens. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a wonderful lighthearted fanciful mystery with engaging characters that spend their time righting wrongs. The end of the book leaves the door open for a sequel and I hope there will be one!
