| Greg is a submissive who has been having a difficult time dealing with life since his master died. He hasn't been able to find a good fit with another one. Appleton, a Dom who lives out in the boonies of Northern Canada takes him in. He seems to be Greg's last chance once he sees the pain the young man is suffering. Appleton
is determined to help center Greg, and in the process both men will find what they need.
Solitary is a very sweet yet emotional addition to the Hammer series. I've read the other books in the series and although all are very interesting I really loved this one. The characterization was key in making this a really awesome read. Greg's pain was so real to me, I sometimes forgot I was reading a story. The tender way Appleton catered to him was deftly executed especially in terms of their BDSM lifestyle. This was more than just deviant sex although the sexual situations lived up to what's expected in a Hammer story. Greg needed someone strong in his life to help him recover and to find his center. He found that in Appleton, a beautiful man who with a simple touch and the right words helped Greg to heal. Patience definitely played a huge role in Greg regaining his self esteem and learning to love again. I truly enjoyed reading this one. If you're not a fan of BDSM themed stories you might not like it but if you're a particular fan of the Hammer series pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.
