| At some point in the history of the world a class of Once-men started being born as beasts with little humanity. Others during that time are born with a genetic makeup that calls them to be Soldiers whose life will be dedicated to defending their world. Nicholas Reardon is a Soldier fighting for his life when he wakes up naked in Anna's yard. Can he convince the woman he's falling in love with that he's come from the future?
Dee Carney has written a tale of humanity in the future that we all hope won't come true. Too often in current times man's inhumanity to man is depressing. If we believe that all people might be able to change the world around them like in It's a Wonderful Life this story could be one of hope. I think Ms. Carney is hinting that love as powerful and Nicholas' and Anna's can help change the future, perhaps even save the world. This is a well done fantasy with believable characters and dialogue.
