| Once again, we are back in the Dome City for the next exciting installment from Marie Treanor's Rogue Warriors series. A woman marked for death, a pawn in a futile war. A man who will risk everything, including his life to save her.
Sergeant Tanya Blake is a prisoner of war. Unlike her fellow POWs, she's being held in a civilian prison in the Dome City. Tanya knows she's different, doesn't know why, and is desperate to escape. Sorin, a mind specialist, is asked to visit Tanya. What he finds is a beautiful and terrified woman. Using his special abilities, he's disturbed to find that someone has planted a compulsion, one that is life threatening to him and his people the Dragul. In Soldier we see another twist in war that no one wants, featuring two endearing, strong characters. One a soldier taught to kill and the other a healer who hates to kill anything. I have to add that Sorin is positively drool worthy. While Soldier is the second book in the series, it can stand alone with no problems. I am thoroughly enjoying this well-written series and can't wait for the third book. I hope I don't have to wait long.
