|Gun runner Pablo Castillo is a hard-hearted, take-no-prisoners type of guy -- until he lays eyes on Dev. His heart is encased in ice, bemoaning a love he'll never have. The ice slowly starts to melt as each encounter with Dev is a temptation he can't resist. After giving in to desires neither man can deny, the reality of their situation threatens the precarious relationship. Dev works for the enemy, something that isn't easy to ignore. Unexpected love is a tenuous thing for these two. Will they choose love?
Sinner, Savior is a very good follow-up in this highly intriguing Brooklyn Sinners series. This is definitely Pablo's story told from his strong, often biting point of view. You're either going to love him to death or wish for his early demise. I was disgusted with him a few times but on the other hand I hoped he found his happily after, or something close to it. Dev as a character was easier to like, as Pablo soon learned.
This is a gripping read, heavy on the conflict and angst. Lots of violence with some very hot sex scenes had me captivated. It was almost better than the first in the series. There's a lot going on to keep the fast paced plot moving. I really enjoyed the read and look forward to book three.
