| Stacy James meets Levi Wright by chance at an auto show. Some dude is threatening him and Stacy finds himself stepping in to keep Levi's gorgeous face from being rearranged by the bully. The difference in their ages makes Stacy hesitate to act on the lust that seems rampant between them.. He had gone through hell at Levi's age, can't help comparing the two of them and wanting to protect the younger man from some of his mistakes.
KC Kendricks gives us a well crafted tale of two men brought together by a mutual lust and some common interests who seem to be in the process of building something more permanent. Stacy James is a good example of what has historically been the result of gay men being forced publicly from the closet. He's lost his job, his family, his reputation and had to rebuild a career from scratch with the help of one friend who stood by him. He's shown as a cautious man, pessimistic about relationships, sharing his philosophy and thoughts with the reader as he tells the story. Levi is more optimistic without the burdens Stacy has carried for twenty years. The two together seem to be able to offset one another, help one another face the future day by day. Ms. Kendricks makes this a story of hope, humor, and possibilities for the two men. This is one of those tales that help people understand the world of gay men with some great eroticism thrown in.
