This book is set in the future on a planet ruled in the medieval period style, with lords and ladies ruling, and the lower classes nothing but slaves and servants. It's primarily a planet that is set up for mining. Jack Ashton is a palace guard for a very powerful Baron that gets summoned to the gardens to talk to his commander. He has no idea what he and the two other guards are going there for, but dutifully goes to the gardens to talk to Lord Warner. After arriving there on time with the other guards, he hears a woman's scream, and races over to protect her. He finds Lady Jacqueline in what looks like a rape scene. The man who is accosting her is her bodyguard. In the chaos, the bodyguard is killed. Lady Jacqueline decides that she wants Jack to be her new bodyguard. Jack doesn't know what that entails, but he quickly finds out that it means his whole life will change. A man named Dr. Naran has developed a way to reprogram people's minds. She can put information in peoples heads, or program them to love, hate, or protect anyone or anything. She reprograms Jack to be Lady Jacqueline's bodyguard. He can't harm her, or allow anything else to harm her. He also comes up with a lot of new skills, such as fighting skills and the ability to see Lady Jacqueline at all times, whether he is with her or not. Lady Jacqueline is a cruel, dominating mistress. She has plans to take the throne in her father's place, and they involve Jack. In order to get him to do whatever she wants, she has to train him to do it without question.

She trains Jack, and brings him to the point that he will do anything for his mistress. But pretty soon, with the help of Dr. Naran's machine, the tables get turned, and Jack ends up training Lady Jacqueline to do whatever he wants. And getting all the revenge he needs…

I picked up this book expecting… I don't know what. It was MUCH better than I expected. I think with the author's name and the synopsis that was given, I expected a lot more kink than was actually in the book. The plot line was interesting, and the sex scenes had a long build up and were very hot. Next time, I won't hesitate to get another of this author's books.
