Four years ago, Grace ran from her abusive ex-husband. She found solace on a farm in Oregon. Grace has been running her farm for the past couple of years alone. Now she has come to the very tough decision to hire someone to help out. She takes on a boarder, Patrick Hess, a man who says he is a writer and his next novel is set on a farm. He agrees to pay her a monthly rent and to help out with the chores. As she and Patrick get closer, she finds her guard slipping with him, a mistake she cannot afford to make. A mistake that could destroy her.

Patrick has been hired by a very wealthy businessman to find his wife. When he meets Grace he believes he has found her. But to make sure, he takes a job on her farm to get the proof he needs. What he didn't count on was his immediate attraction to her or that he would quickly fall in love with her. Can Grace learn to trust in time to save herself? Or will she finally find she cannot hide from a psychopath determined to have her?

Patrice Moore has created a wonderful, suspenseful tale of survival in the face of astounding odds. I enjoyed this story from the very beginning. Grace is such a strong yet vulnerable character. And Patrick, well he is such a warm, caring man. Every woman needs a hero like Patrick. I was so drawn into this wonderful tale that I found myself unable to put it down, with the passion that builds between Patrick and Grace, to the ordinary running of the farm, in which Ms. Moore describes with such perfect detail, and then to the inevitable confrontation between good and evil. I would highly recommend this one to anyone who loves a great romance that will keep them on the edge of their seats to the very end.
