| Abraham Lord, owner of Eclipse Construction and James Justin, architect for a large firm are working on their romance. Seems everywhere he turns Jamie finds reminders of the abusive family he grew up in. Bram has been out of the closet longer, tries to use his love to help Jamie find himself. Laura Baumbach writes great romance. This one is no exception as Jamie fights against the memories and fears that hold him back. Any good romance is sure to have some pitfalls and this one is no exception. Bram’s character always seems so powerful to Jamie. From his size to his success as a businessman, Bram seems to have it all while Jamie struggles to be his own man.. The dialogue between them is excellent. Jamie’s character starts to come into focus as he stands up for the underdog in a domestic violence happening next door. He backslides into wanting anonymity, wrongly accuses Bram of paving the way for him in business but, through it all Ms. Baumbach builds his character and their love into something special. This is quite an erotic tale of two men learning to love one another, fight for one another and grow as people as well as lovers. Secondary characters like the Dunns have the kind of romance that lets them accept others as they are. Bram’s crew and others are accepting because Bram expects nothing else. Macy seems like a simple blonde neighbor hot for anything in pants but she’s not at all what she seems. The author uses a simple erotic love story filled with the complexities of human nature to tell a superb story from beginning to end. It’s a great read.
