| Robots only do what they are told. They cannot pretend they are real or want anything, or so says Allie about her sexual robot. The robot knows differently. Of course Allie finds him safer than any man. She trusts Thomas the robot. If she wanted, she could allow him to love her, even though the connections aren’t real. Dr. Thomas Zentry is the creator of the Handyman and Companion line robots, and part-owner of Issamov Enterprises. The companion robots are modeled after him. Tommy lost Allie to Lance and will do anything to win her back, even if he has to use a robot. Ex-husband, Lance, isn’t happy to learn Allie purchased a robot for a Valentine gift. She believes Lance is jealous. Is she willing to commit her life to being with a robot or does Lance begin to appeal to her again? And what will Allie do when she learns the truth behind the robot?
I, Robot, Valentine is a story I really enjoyed. I could visualize the robot following Allie around trying to connect to her. There were some moments he actually felt real to me. Allie comes across with great believability as she tries to get over some hang-ups with men. This book is so hot it’s a wonder Allie doesn’t scald herself when she touches the robot. I loved Tommy’s viewpoint on his feelings for Allie. Theirs is a love story I will always remember. Alison Paige does a good job in the making of this book. I wondered, had she at one time had her heart broken, too, and perhaps was showing others how learning to trust again can happen. Just as feeling your heart crushed for the first time, as with Tommy. Her story explodes with incredible in-depth emotions.
