Addie Winter works at a dead end job despite the boss's promise of something better in the future. Dead end pretty much describes her life. She is the least favored child of a large family and she does not understand why her mother hates her. Her unusual height makes it difficult for her to date and she generally feels like a failure until she leads a tour. She has been faking a relationship to avoid the dreaded Sunday dinners at her mother's when she is forced to actually find someone to play the role. Will seems perfect for the part and agrees to help her. Things get complicated when Will and his brother Ed are the management team hired by the new owner of her company, but it seems Will wants to make the relationship real. Will's life is complicated by a manipulative ex and his own insecurities and his bad boy brother Ed always seems to come to her rescue.

This is a really great story with wonderful characters and a plot that hooked me and kept me reading until the last page. Will seems like the classic good guy at first and believes himself to be that throughout, but his treatment of Addie is almost worse than her own family. He does nothing for her already shaky self-confidence. Ed on the other hand, is a ladies' man and has dated every woman in the office, but is always there for Addie when she needs him. Addie will definitely arouse your sympathies. She is a strong capable and attractive person who tries not to let life get her down despite the obstacles it puts in her path. I really enjoyed reading about the bus trips she led; this is where her personality shines. The author has written a story with humor as well as struggle and I loved the ending, it is appropriate and will hopefully surprise you as much as it did me.
