| Ex-con, Wade MacReynolds, needs to get water rights to a close property so he can get water for his cattle. Otherwise he’ll lose the ranch and will end up back in prison. All of his neighbors are refusing to help him because of his record. All but one that is. Ms. Lily Barnett, the local brothel madam will extend him water rights on a weekly basis on one condition. He must pleasure her in bed each week or she won’t renew the water rights.
Ride a Cowboy is a fun, fast-paced read. The plot is believable and the characters are credible for that time period. Wade has two irresistible qualities. He’s a cowboy and he’s a bad boy. What woman hasn’t fallen for a guy that is one or the other, let alone both? Lily is a strong, passionate woman. But she also takes on the roll of mother when protecting her girls. She’s been forced into a life she didn’t choose, but is making the best of it and trying to help others. A very admirable quality. While there are elements of the story that as a reader, I would like to have seen fleshed out more, I am not disappointed that Wade and Lily have more books to come. I am anxiously awaiting the next book of theirs. If you like cowboys or bad boys and strong women, you will enjoy this story.
