|Reena was rescued from a pleasure house after being dosed with sex drugs, escaped to return to the Resistance, then captured by bounty hunter Cade who has to stop an assassination attempt by Blade. She tries to get away again only to be caught by men looking for a single woman to ravish. Cade and Blade join up to save her and both are wounded. Does she let them die or will she try to save them for herself? After all, she's infected with a virus that makes her require frequent orgasms. What better situation than have two hunky men in a snowbound cabin when you crave sex?
For a woman who is supposed to be smart and skilled, the head of the Resistance to restore women's rights, Reena Wilde sure can't stay out of trouble. This is book five in the Outlaw Lovers series and I wasn't very impressed. Cade Outlaw is a bounty hunter for the government trying to bring her in to work out something between them and the Resistance. Will "Blade" Smith was sent to kill her by another group who thinks she's a traitor. All three get attitude adjustments in this strange tale of an alternate future for the US, women used only as sex objects, and rapidly shifting loyalties. There is always someone thinking about sex, fantasizing, reliving, dreaming, or doing. Sometimes, it hard to keep it all straight.
The story is a convoluted tale that is used to hold together a series of sexual encounters. The changes in the two men are commendable, but I didn't think the character of Reena was very likeable. She's inept in a lot of ways, arrogant, and a bit disreputable, even when compared to a bounty hunter and an assassin. Personally, I was disappointed in the story. If you have read the other books in the series and know the circumstances and the characters, you might like it. Otherwise, I'd give it a pass.
