This was an incredibly emotional story about one family’s downfall through the unscrupulous actions of another and the ramifications of how those actions affected many people. The Blackstone family had been framed so that not only did the Father spend most of his last years in a horrible imprisonment, but also his children and heir to all his fortune were blackballed by society and forced to steal to survive. The Claymore family was given the esteem, fortune and lands which were stolen from the Blackstones.

Through unplanned circumstances, York Blackstone kidnapped former neighbor Marrielle Henley, the fiancé to the Claymore son. Even though York at first had no knowledge of who she was, he was quick to take advantage of her position in life to extort money from her Father, Lord Henley, and bring the Claymores to their demise. The way York reacted, though arrogant toward his enemy, was expressive when dealing with Marielle. That he thought her unique was evident from the start.

Ms. Elaine Violette was an unknown author to me before reading Regal Reward. This release is a fabulous story with fantastic characters which was impossible to put down! York’s explosive temperament was softened by the sensitive, yet volatile, mannerisms of Marrielle. The sub characters in this book were believable and very supportive.

The myriad of activities definitely add to, not detract from, this amazing book. It has much to offer to its readers and I highly recommend it. I absolutely loved it! This one’s a keeper!
