This story is an excellent example of a committed, loving BDSM relationship. The scenes are intense, but they simply ooze with emotion. Alex and Rene are accurately portrayed as a couple who have lost their way. I thoroughly enjoyed both characters. Alex is independent and strong. Her acceptance of her needs is a slow and somewhat painful journey. The sex is powerful and extremely hot. I got completely wrapped up in the vividly detailed encounters. There's a feeling of voyeurism in this read. It's like witnessing a couple's most private moments as opposed to enjoying an erotic scene. Nicely paced, this story is a sensual and realistic look at a different sort of marriage. Highly recommended if you like a good dose of kink mixed into a beautiful story about rediscovering love and who you really are.
