|The demons are trying to take over the world and it is up to a werewolf race of warriors and their mates to save it from destruction. Kirby Brown is an animal empath who is blown away by her new friend Faith's psychic powers as well as her mate and his family. When she meets Rane Wolfen, she is immediately intrigued and drawn to the power that surrounds him. When Faith asks her to help their fight with her power she is more than willing to lend a hand.
One look at Kirby Brown and Rane knows that she is his mate and there is no way that he is going to jeopardize her safety with the upcoming battle no matter what kind of power she has. By putting his foot down and unleashing his over-protective, dominant nature isn't something that Kirby is willing to stand for. It looks like the battle against the demons might be just as intense as the fight between Rane and Kirby.
Once again author Hazel Gower unleashes her powerful and imaginative pen in Rane's Mate giving the reader an enthralling love-and-laughter, madness and mayhem romance that wreaks havoc at every turn even as it heats up the pages with sensuality and danger. Sit down, buckle up and hold on because once the reader starts ready there is no way they are going to be able to tear themselves away from the pages. Kirby, Rane as well as all the other characters seem to leap from the pages into fully realized people that you care about, where you are cheering them on as they fight against evil. It is quite apparent that Rane is smitten with Kirby but that he isn't willing to let any obstacles get in his way to order to make her happy, proving this in his dealing with her over-bearing brothers as well as the care he gives to her parents.
Rane seems to have gotten smart and learned a thing or two from watching his brother woo his mate and he goes out of his way not to make the same mistakes that Kane did. Rane is more willing to take a mate yet give her a little space even as he is trying to protect her from the danger that threatens their very lives. The heat between Rane and Kirby is filled with deep-seated passion, sexual tension and heartwarming emotions even as they battle each other. Kirby might be a little shy in the beginning of the story but she soon becomes confident and strong enough to stand up to Rane creating some really laugh-out-loud moments for the reader's enjoyment. Kirby might not have the training that Faith does but she can sure do some butt kicking of her own when she needs to!
The second book in the Armageddon Mates series is nothing short of incredible! I can't wait to see what's next in this amazing series.
