| Christian Ryder is a rich man who's afraid to make friends or commitments because his emotions tend to start fires. Tanner O'Bannon is trying to pay off his father's debts and his own expenses by working as a male escort for a company that caters to gay men. The night he and Christian meet it's special for both of them. Tanner hates his job but when he tries to quit his boss turns vicious. His henchmen almost beat Tanner to death. Suffering amnesia over the incident and a broken arm he lets Christian take him home to recuperate.
Amanda Young crafts a wonderful tale. Christian and Tanner have to find the true meaning of love. I like the way the author makes them both responsible men but each takes on more burdens than are good for them. Tanner can barely survive because of his sense of pride. His dad's debts aren't his responsibility. He's not even twenty-one but agrees to pay off anyone who says his dad owed them money. Christian has more money than he knows what to do with. He tends to use it to buy whatever he needs or wants rather than risk relationships. Being in the closet for being gay would be bad enough but the author gives him the added challenge of being able to control and set fires using his mind and body. The main characters and dialogue are both very well done. They don't let the lust between them pull them into anything foolish. Each has problems they have to work through before a relationship is likely to last. They're a great help to one another as their love grows through the physical and emotional upheavals caused by the bad guys. This is a great romance with an action filled storyline.
