| Amber spent years using her body as a means for survival. Now that she’s a vampire, she has the freedom to choose. She glories in the power she feels running through her body. But when she meets Marcus, her instructor in vampirism, she’s determined not to let his sensuality overwhelm her.
Marcus, an ancient vampire, no longer received joy in anything. But the moment he meets Amber, she fires his blood with lust and excitement. She’s a sensual, beautiful creature and his bond mate. But Amber is stubborn and it will take some artful seduction techniques to make her truly his. Amber is strong woman and pretty much takes everything in stride. I really liked her. Lena is a fabulous friend who saved her, shared her home, clothes, took her in, and helped her adjust until Marcus comes along. Marcus oozes charisma. Amber, who brings joy back into his life, heightens his sensuality, but he’s willing to give her time. Liked that too. A dominant male who is willing to give a little. Though brief in appearance, Marcus’ trusted friends Fin and James add an element of humor. Enticing and provocative, this novella oozes sexual energy. Though not the main focus of this deeply sensual story is love with a satisfying ending. If I had any negatives, it would be that I enjoyed this story so much I was sorry it was a novella and not a full length book. A page-turner that ended way too soon, I would have loved to read more about all the characters Lena, Fin, and James and indeed Amber and Marcus. Prey is a superbly crafted example of erotic fiction. A book I’ll definitely reread.
