| This book is unique, I believe, because of its plot and the characters are facing a myriad of problems, some of which we usually do not read about. It is not unusual for a woman to be aware of her biological clock and wish to rush “the process!” It is different for a woman, in this case, Jillian Wilson, to try to accomplish this goal in the manner she uses. It is not uncommon for men and women who previously were a couple to reunite; it’s abnormal for them to spend a weekend in bed trying to make a baby immediately!
Derrick Harris had dropped Jillian Wilson after dating for a year because he did not want a permanent relationship; Jillian was afraid to risk her heart again! Derrick found out about her “get pregnant” scheme when he listened to his answering machine; his brother, Jason, lived with him and Jillian left Jason a message about not being pregnant. Of course, Derrick thought Jillian was having an affair with his brother, who was involved with a woman Derrick hoped would be his sister-in-law, Kelly. Since Derrick was constantly trying to look out for his baby brother, he immediately went to the hotel where Jillian was staying for the weekend—he was determined to confront her and put a stop to her interference. This novel was great from the start! There were no initial parts where the story was presented that were uninteresting—we’ve all experienced the long, drawn out introductory parts that are necessary but dry, right? Well, you will not find that in this book. I was interested from the very first. Ms. Tina Gayle presented her characters in such a way that they were believable, fun and remarkable from the beginning. The depth of feelings and understanding was rare. It was almost impossible to put down. This is an impressive book about three couples who lived, loved and suffered together. Derrick and Jillian, while the main characters, were not the only ones facing hardships. I liked this book and heartedly recommend it to all. You’ll love it!
